Many of them - especially children - were abducted to Chile. The leader, Paul Schäfer, was arrested in 2005. He was sent to prison for many crimes. Amongst others: child abuse, murder and torture. He died 2010 in a prison in Chile. In this documentary, shot in 1988, Gero Gemballa tries to visit the colony in Chile, during the peak of the Colonia Dignidad. He tries to find out, why this community was covered by Chilean authorities, like the police and the secret service - and why German authorities and politicians kept quiet, despite the fact, that so many Germans were kidnapped and brought to Chile, without their families hearing anything about them anymore.
